SCH Ice Cold Podcast, Episode 14: SCF Special with Mike Darnay

We’re now two games into hockey’s center stage, but it doesn’t mean we can’t get the Pittsburgh perspective on everything Penguins with their 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Final. Pensburgh’s Mike Darnay joins the guys to break down the series so far as to what’s gone well for the Penguins and gone wrong for the Sharks, what both teams can improve upon, and more!

The overall rundown:

  • Joined by Pensburgh’s, Mike Darnay, as he breaks down what both the Penguins and Sharks have done well and done poorly two games in. What are areas of concern for the squads?
  • The HBK line (shout out to Shawn Michaels) of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino, and Phil Kessel has galvanized the Penguins’ success leading into the Final. How are they meshing so well together?
  • “Non-leader” Sidney Crosby has arguably been the best player so far in the series. Is there more to his dominant play other than being the best player in the world?
  • “American Ninja Warrior” has beaten this Final in ratings so far. What else plays into this other than small markets involved? (Shout out to Pat Foley)
  • A discussion on how players and specific seasons become ingrained in your memory or heart as hockey fans with Crosby and Malkin going for their second Stanley Cup.
  • Series predictions from here: Who wins and in how many games? Who wins the Conn Smythe for both teams? (Multiple scenarios here)/
