Blackhawks prospect Adam Boqvist not suffering concussion-like symptoms after hit, per report

Blackhawks prospect Adam Boqvist is not suffering concussion-like symptoms after he was checked into the glass Friday while playing for the London Knights in the OHL, reports Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Boqvist, who was selected No. 8 overall in this year’s NHL draft, was scratched from the Knights’ lineup for their game against Kingston on Saturday. According to the report, he was kept out of action for precautionary reasons.

Concussions were one of the concerns about Boqvist before the draft, after he suffered two during the 2017-18 season. Those were the second and third concussions of his career, two, after the one he had during the 2016-17 season.

Boqvist scored his first goal of the season earlier in the game, and now has one goal and 10 assists in 11 games. His 11 points lead all London defenseman.

London’s next game is Friday night at home against the Flint Firebirds.
