Blackhawks prospect Roy Radke to have season-ending shoulder surgery

Chicago Blackhawks forward prospect Roy Radke will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, reports Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Radke, 20, signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League on March 21 after completing his third season with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. After rehab, Radke is expected to play in Chicago’s prospect camp this summer, the Traverse City rookie tournament and training camp, according to Powers.

Radke scored 23 goals and 13 assists in 45 games with Barrie Colts this season. The Geneva, Ill. native did miss some time this season to a lower-body injury. Last season, he scored 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 66 games. He was scoreless in 15 postseason games.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward was drafted by Chicago in the sixth round in 2015. He’s a right-handed shot and as a Chicago-area native played for the Chicago Mission (2010-11).
