Blackhawks prospects Lucas Carlsson, John Dahlström make Sweden’s World Juniors camp roster

Chicago Blackhawks prospects Lucas Carlsson and John Dahlström are among 26 players named to Sweden’s World Juniors camp roster. Three players will need to be cut to make the final roster for the tournament, which runs Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2017 in Montreal and Toronto.

Carlsson has a goal and four assists for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League in 19 games this season. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman has never played in the World Juniors tournament. The Hawks drafted the left-handed blue liner with the No. 110 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.

Dalhström has made a smooth transition from Sweden to North American this season after being drafted in the second round by the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. The 6-foot, 196-pound left winger has scored 15 goals and 30 points in 28 games this season. The Hawks picked Dahlström with the final pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
