Blackhawks re-sign Dennis Rasmussen to 1-year deal

The Blackhawks announced Thursday that forward Dennis Rasmussen has signed a one-year deal with the club. He was a restricted free agent and the Blackhawks had made him a qualifying offer to retain his rights.

ESPN’s Scott Powers reports that the deal is two-way and has an average annual value of $575,000.

Rasmussen, known as “Moose” to his teammates, had 13 goals and 27 points in 73 games for the Rockford Icehogs this season. He was briefly called up to the Blackhawks during a west coast trip, but did not play any NHL games. He led the Icehogs in games played, with 73.

The 25-year-old forward was signed by the Blackhawks as a free agent in 2014. He had previously played for the Växjö Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League for three seasons. He had 40 goals and 85 points in 149 games during his SHL career.

Marcus Kruger, Viktor Svedberg and Joakim Nordstrom remain as unsigned restricted free agents for the Blackhawks.
