Blackhawks playoff picture: April 6

Here's a look at the Blackhawks' playoff seeding chances heading into Monday's games.

The Chicago Blackhawks have a week left in the regular-season and are fighting for a playoff seeding. Each day until the end of the regular-season, we'll breakdown their chances at seeding in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Sunday's results

In the final week of the Central Division playoff race, the St. Louis Blues won the first day with a 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks to move ahead of the Nashville Predators for first place.

Monday's scoreboard watch

The Minnesota Wild host the Winnipeg Jets in a wild-card showdown. Minnesota holds the first wild-card spot with 96 points, while the Jets are on the outside looking in tied with Los Angeles at 92 points, but the Kings hold 37 ROW to Winnipeg's 33. Minnesota would clinch a playoff berth with a win in regulation or overtime OR if they win in a shootout and the Kings lose to the Vancouver Canucks, who sit in second-place in the Pacific Division, in any fashion. The Canucks would clinch a playoff spot with a win in regulation and a Jets lost in regulation. The Dallas Stars travel to San Jose.

Blackhawks' outlook

The Central Division race is in day two of the final week. The Blackhawks have three games remaining, including their next two against teams currently fighting for playoff position. If the Wild fall to the Jets, they would come into Tuesday's game still looking to clinch a playoff spot on the second half of a back-to-back. The Hawks need the Blues and the Predators to lose this week, and the Hawks can at least control the Blues' fate when they play them Thursday. The Blues play the Jets on Tuesday, and the Predators faceoff against the Avalanche the same night.

And so, one day down, six to go.
