Patrick Kane, Artemi Panarin, Artem Anisimov team up for tic-tac-toe goal

The Chicago Blackhawks’ power play hasn’t always been pretty this season, so I guess you could say they were due. If you were looking for style points Thursday night, the Hawks provided more than enough on this beautiful power play against the New York Islanders.

Artem Anisimov finished the play for the goal, but not before a pair of pinpoint passes by linemates Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin. The first was a cross-ice pass by Panarin through the defense, then Kane deftly got it to a perfectly positioned Anisimov, who put it home.

This is about as well executed as a power play goal can get. The Islanders had their men in position, but the passes came so quickly that it seemed like there was nothing New York could do to stop them. Sometimes, it just pays to be a passing savant like Kane or Panarin.

Kane leads Chicago with 29 points, followed by Panarin with 28 points, Anisimov with 27 points, and Marian Hossa with 22 points. No other player on the team has more than 12.
