Blackhawks cut Anthony Louis, 13 others from training camp roster

The Chicago Blackhawks have cut Anthony Louis and 13 others from their training camp roster, the team announced prior to Thursday’s preseason home opener against the Detroit Red Wings.

Along with Louis, six other players were reassigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL defensemen Carl Dahlstrom and Robin Norell, and forwards Matthew Highmore, Matt Iacopelli, Luke Johnson and Graham Knott.

Defenseman Robin Press, a 2013 seventh-round pick by Chicago, and forward Tyler Sikura were released from professional tryout contracts.

Goaltender Matt Tomkins, forward William Pelletier, and defenseman Darren Raddysh were released from amateur tryouts. Raddysh was the 2017 Ontario Hockey League defenseman of the year. All five of the players who got released are also on the IceHogs’ training camp roster.

Defenseman Henri Jokiharju (Portland) and forward Radovan Bondra (Prince George) were assigned to their respective Western Hockey League teams.

Thursday’s roster moves leave Chicago with 40 roster players, including 22 forwards, 13 defensemen, and five goaltenders.
