The Blackhawks visit the struggling Avalanche as they look to avoid a three game skid.
The Chicago Blackhawks look to avoid their third straight loss as they visit the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday night in a Central Division matchup.
With back-to-back losses, the Hawks have now fallen from the top spot in the Central Division to trail two points behind the Minnesota Wild. Chicago has gone 27-14-5 so far this season, for a total of 59 points.
Colorado has struggled so far this season, as they sit in last place in the Central Division, with just 13 wins under their belt. Their 13-27-1 record gives them just 27 points, which also puts them at last in the league. The Avs have won just one of their last eight games, but will look to turn it around at home Tuesday night.
It is unconfirmed who will get the start for the Hawks in net, although Corey Crawford is likely to get the nod. Crawford’s 2.49 goals against average and .921 save percentage has allowed him to go 16-10-3 so far this season.
Semyon Varlamov will start in net for the home team. The starting goaltender for the Avalanche has recorded just six wins this season, and 16 losses for a goals against average of 3.31 and a .901 save percentage.
The Blackhawks and Avalanche have met twice so far this season, both times in Chicago. The team’s split their two meetings, with the Blackhawks earning a 4-0 victory, and a getting handed 2-1 overtime loss.
