Blackhawks vs. Coyotes Preview 2017: Hawks look to get back on track in Arizona
The Blackhawks look to avoid their fourth straight loss as they visit the struggling Coyotes.
The Chicago Blackhawks continue their six-game road trip as they head to Arizona on Thursday night to face the Coyotes.
The Hawks are coming off a 3-1 loss Tuesday night in San Jose, that extended their losing streak to three. Chicago still sits in second in the Central Division standings with 65 points and a 30-17-5 record.
The Coyotes currently sit in last place in the Pacific Division, with just a 16-27-6 record so far this season.
This is the second meeting of the season between the two Western Conference teams. The Hawks’ and Coyotes’ last met in December, when Chicago earned a 4-0 victory at home.
Marcus Kruger will return to the lineup for the Blackhawks after missing Tuesday’s game due to illness. In his 40 games played this season, Kruger has just two goals and eight assists.
Corey Crawford will start in the crease for the Hawks. Crawford boasts a 18-12-3 record this season, with a 2.55 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.
Mike Smith will get the nod for the Coyotes. Smith has a 11-14-5 record this season, with a 2.86 goals-against average and 9.17 save percentage.
