The Chicago Blackhawks get their first Eastern Conference matchup of the season Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. It’s a chance to get back to .500 after stumbling to open the season, and hopefully we’ll see some of the big names start scoring goals, too.
The Hawks will be without Ryan Hartman once again for the game, so it looks like Jordin Tootoo will be on the fourth line next to Marcus Kruger and Dennis Rasmussen. Hartman said he’s looking to return Friday night, which would be a boost to a line that’ll likely be lacking offensively with its current setup.
But Kruger’s penalty-killing efforts might be a little easier on Tuesday, as the Flyers have gone scoreless on the power play so far this season. Chicago’s penalty kill has been a mess, to say the least, and it’s made it harder to gauge exactly where the team is at three games in.
Philadelphia is a pretty good team with loads of talent up front that should make this an entertaining game. The Flyers are 1-0-1 this season and currently rank 10th in 5-on-5 Corsi in the league. Michal Neuvirth is expected to start in goal, and while he’s bounce around in his career, he’s posted a solid .924 save percentage in 33 games since joining the Flyers last season.
