Blackhawks vs. Red Wings game preview 2017: Chicago looks for 4th straight win
The Blackhawks host the Red Wings in their first meeting of the season, as Chicago looks to complete a perfect four-game homestand.
The Chicago Blackhawks host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night at the United Center, as they look to complete a perfect four-game homestand. After losing five of six straight games, the Hawks have gone 3-0 at the United Center with wins over the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators.
Chicago remains at the top of the Western Conference and Central Division with 57 points with a 26-12-5 record. The Red Wings have been inconsistent so far this season, with a 17-18-5 record. They currently sit in last place in the Atlantic Division with just 39 points.
Detroit has been without forward Justin Abdelkader since Dec. 1 due to a sprained MCL, but he is expected to make his return to the ice against the Hawks. Abdelkader has 8 points in 22 games this season for the Wings.
It is not confirmed who will get the start in net for the Hawks, however, after his 5-2 win over the Predators on Sunday night, Corey Crawford is the likely choice. Crawford is now 26-15-8 on the season, with a .925 save percentage.
Petr Mrazek will get the nod for Detroit. Mrazek has a 9-10-3 record this season, with a .895 save percentage.
