Blackhawks vs. Wild preview 2017: Start time, schedule, and live streaming
Chicago looks for its third win over Minnesota this season.
The Chicago Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild in a Central Division nationally televised showdown Sunday at United Center.
Chicago (42-20-5) sit three points back of Minnesota (43-17-6) for the Western Conference lead. The Hawks could pull within one points with a victory.
It’s the fourth and final regular-season meeting between the two rivals. Chicago holds a 2-1 series lead with a pair of wins in Minnesota while the Wild’s victory came in Chicago. The Hawks are 22-9-4 on home ice this season.
Jonathan Toews has stepped up his game in the three meetings against the Wild. The Chicago captain has four goals and four assists to lead all scorers in the series. Toews’ top line teammates, Richard Panik and Nick Schmaltz, have also lit the lamp against Minnesota with four points (2 goals, 2 assists) apiece.
Minnesota’s leading scorers in the series are Mikael Granlund and Zach Parise, who each have potted two goals.
Following winning 12 of 13 games from Feb. 2 to March 4, the Hawks have dropped two straight to Anaheim and Detroit. Chicago was shut out against Anaheim at home before mustering just two goals Friday in Detroit.
Minnesota, however, is coming off an incredible comeback over Florida on Friday. The Wild scored unanswered goals in the third period for a 7-3 victory.
Corey Crawford is expected to start for Chicago. Crawford is 26-15-3 with a 2.55 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. In three games this season against Minnesota, he is 2-1-0 with a 2.97 GAA and a .912 save percentage.
The Wild will turn to Devan Dubnyk between the pipes. Dubnyk is 36-14-3, 2.03 GAA, .932 save percentage this season.
