Blackhawks week ahead: Home-and-home with Stars closes four game week

After a light workload last week which saw the Blackhawks win all three of their games, the schedule picks up a bit this week for the Men of Four Feathers. Chicago has just three off days this week, playing a game every other day until the weekend, when they will play a Saturday-Sunday home-and-home set with the Dallas Stars.

The Blackhawks will be forced to fight with the Cubs for ratings one more time, as Game Six of the World Series is Tuesday night in Cleveland. The Blackhawks are 5-0-0 when sharing Chicago’s attention with the North Siders this season, so hopefully that trend will continue, and the good fortune can benefit both teams.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming week in Blackhawks’ hockey (all times Central):

Monday – Off day

The NHL goes idle on Monday, honoring Halloween, I guess….?

IceHogs: Idle

Central Division: Idle

Tuesday – Flames at Blackhawks, 7:30 p.m. (CSNC)

Exactly one week after their last matchup, these two Western Conference opponents meet again. The NHL comes back from their off Monday with 12 games on top, including a double header on NBCSN with Tampa Bay vs. New York Islanders and San Jose vs. Arizona. The game to watch on Tuesday night might be in Canada, though, as Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs will host Connor McDavid and the Oilers in Toronto.

World Series: Game 7, Chicago at Cleveland, 7 p.m. (FOX)*

Thursday – Avalanche at Blackhaws, 7:30 p.m. (CSNC)

The Blackhawks take on Colorado in their first of three divisional matchups this week. There are twelve total games scheduled again in the NHL, with some intriguing interconference matchups on tap, as Edmonton heads to New York to take on the Rangers, and Pittsburgh will take on the Kings in LA.

Fun matchups to watch include the Rangers visiting the Bruins, the Flyers taking on the Canadiens, and a Stanley Cup Final rematch as Pittsburgh will invade San Jose.
