Blackhawks’ 2019 NHL Draft On the Clock, Episode 2: Scouting at under-18 World Championship

In the second episode, general manager Stan Bowman and his scouting staff watch prospects.

Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman opens up the episode talking to his scouting staff with head coach Jeremy Colliton at his side telling the staff they want a player to be in the organization for the next 10-15 years. He adds that if the player can play in the NHL in the next two years that’s an added bonus.

The episode focuses on former Blackhawk Colin Fraser, a current team scout, scouting players at the under-18 World Championship. Bowman and Mark Kelley, the vice president of amateur scouting, also attend the event. Fraser gives his thoughts on WHL defenseman Bowen Byram and centers Dylan Cozens and Kirby Dach, who was injured and didn’t compete in the tournament.
