Blackhawks to face Bruins, Capitals, Red Wings in 2019 preseason

The Blackhawks will begin the preseason with three straight games in as many nights, the team announced Tuesday.

Chicago will play six games in the United States before a game in Berlin, Germany, against Eisbären Berlin of Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) as part of the NHL Global Series.

The Blackhawks open the preseason on the road Monday, Sept. 16, against the Capitals. Chicago then travels to Detroit to face the Red Wings before hosting the former Central Division rival the next night at the United Center.

Chicago hosts the reigning Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Capitals on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Blackhawks close out the U.S. portion of their preseason schedule Saturday, Sept. 28 in Boston.

The Blackhawks wrap up their preseason slate against Eisbären Berlin on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. Chicago went 2-4 during the preseason last year, with wins at Ottawa and at home against Columbus.

The Blackhawks will play their season opener against the Flyers on Friday, Oct. 4 at O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, as part of the NHL Global Series.

The NHL is expected to announce each team’s complete regular-season schedule June 25.
