Blackhawks sign Alex DeBrincat to 3-year, $19.2 million extension
Chicago locks up its young superstar winger.
The Blackhawks signed Alex DeBrincat to a three-year contract extension worth $19.2 million Thursday. The deal runs through the 2022-23 campaign.
DeBrincat was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2019-20 season. The 21-year-old followed up his 28-goal rookie season with 41 goals during his sophomore season in 2018-19. Chicago selected him in the second round (39th overall) of the 2016 NHL draft.
Bowman: “Alex has scored 69 goals the past two years, so he’s certainly had great start to his career.”
