With a goal in the third period against the Red Wings on Sunday night, Patrick Kane became the fourth player in franchise history to reach 400 goals during his Blackhawks career.
The goal came in the middle of the third period, with Chicago already leading 4-1. During a 2-on-1 rush with Alex DeBrincat, Kane held on to the puck, used his skate to shield the puck from a sliding Filip Hronek, then fired a wrist shot past Detroit goalie Thomas Greiss.

The last Blackhawks player to score his 400th career goal in a game was Marian Hossa, who reached that mark in a 3-2 win over the Islanders on Dec. 9, 2011. Hossa added his 500th goal five years later in a game against the Flyers.
But all of Kane’s goals have been scored with the Blackhawks, with this latest tally moving him within six goals of former Blackhawks forward Steve Larmer’s 406 career goals, the No. 3 total in franchise history behind Bobby Hull (604) and Stan Mikita (541). Kane entered Sunday’s game ranked seventh in regular season games played (995), third in assists (654) and fourth in points (1,053). In 136 career postseason games, Kane’s added 52 goals with 80 assists.

Along with the three Stanley Cups Kane’s won with Chicago, the four-time all-star has also won the 2007-08 Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie, the 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP and a trio of awards in his 106-point (46 G, 60 A) season in ‘15-16: Hart Trophy (league MVP), Art Ross Trophy (top point scorer) and Ted Lindsay Award (NHLPA’s most outstanding player).
All part of one of the most decorated careers in NHL history that began with the Blackhawks selecting Kane No. 1 overall in the 2007 NHL Draft.
