Blackhawks give Brendan Perlini permission to seek trade, per report

Brendan Perlini’s time with the Blackhawks appears to be coming to an end.

Chicago has given Perlini’s agent, Darren Ferris, permission to seek a trade, according to a report by Bob McKenzie on TSN’s “Insider Trading” on Thursday night.

“(Perlini) has not been able to establish himself in Chicago, and he’s only played one game so far this (season), played less than 8 minutes and so Ferris and the Hawks have agreed they’re going to try to find a new home for him,” McKenzie said.

Perlini scored 12 goals and 15 points in 46 games with Chicago last season after being acquired with Dylan Strome from the Coyotes in exchange for Nick Schmaltz. The 23-year-old Perlini re-signed with the Blackhawks on a one-year deal worth $874,125 in September, but as McKenzie noted Perlini has only played once this season against the Jets on Oct. 12.
