Blackhawks place Calvin de Haan on injured reserve with right shoulder injury
De Haan has one goal and six points in 29 games this season.
The Blackhawks placed defenseman Calvin de Haan on injured reserve with a right shoulder injury he sustained in Chicago’s 5-1 loss to the Golden Knights on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
De Haan fell on his right shoulder after being on the receiving end of a hit in the neutral zone from Mark Stone, who was penalized for interference on the play with 2:14 remaining in the first period. De Haan skated off the ice on his own and immediately went to the team’s dressing room. The Blackhawks later ruled him out for the remainder of the game, and he returned to Chicago for further evaluation.

It’s the same shoulder de Haan had surgery on in the offseason that sidelined him for four-to-six months. He has one goal and five assists in 29 games this season.
The Blackhawks did not make a corresponding roster move because they brought eight defensemen on their three-game road trip. Olli Maatta (illness) will return for Chicago’s game Thursday against the Coyotes in Glendale, Arizona.
