Blackhawks’ Drake Caggiula uses shot to learn gender of upcoming baby
The Chicago forward is going to be a dad!
Drake Caggiula has a lot to celebrate.
The Blackhawks forward got engaged to his girlfriend Laura a week ago, and Sunday he learned the couple will be having a baby boy.
After missing on his first two shots, Caggiula hit a ball hanging in the top right corner of the net that exploded with blue powder to reveal they are having a boy. He tossed his stick and gloves into the air before embracing his bride-to-be and carrying her around the backyard.

Caggiula had 15 points (nine goals, six assists) in 40 games before the NHL paused its season due to health concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. He has one assist — in Chicago’s 6-2 win Feb. 5, 2019, at Edmonton — across four games against his former team, the Oilers.
The Blackhawks, the No. 12 seed, will play the No. 5 seed Oilers in a best-of-five qualifying round series at a to-be-determined hub city when the NHL returns to play this summer.
