Which Blackhawks are going to play at 2018 World Championship?

The Chicago Blackhawks will be well represented at next month’s World Championship. The tournament is from May 4-20 in Copenhagen and Herning, Denmark.

Forwards Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane and defenseman Connor Murphy and Jordan Oesterle were named to the United States’ team roster April 28, while forwards Artem Anisimov (Russia), Tomas Jurco (Slovakia) and Dominik Kahun (Germany) and defenseman Erik Gustafsson (Sweden) will also play.

Prospect Maxim Shalunov (Russia) may also play in the tournament.

Chicago assistant coach Don Granto, a Downers Grove, Illinois native, will also serve in the same role for Americans. Granto joined the Hawks after the 2016-17 season.

Forward Brandon Saad said he won’t head to Denmark as he focuses on his offseason training and upcoming wedding in July.

Defenseman Henri Jokiharju, 18, was named to Finland’s initial roster, but was left off the tournament team for more experienced players.

Forward Jonathan Toews and defenseman Duncan Keith also have said they won’t be playing for Canada.
