Blackhawks recall Dylan Sikura from AHL, re-assign Anton Wedin

The Blackhawks recalled winger Dylan Sikura from the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL and have re-assigned Anton Wedin.

Wedin played in four games with Chicago averaging 9:04 minutes of ice time on a line with David Kampf and Dominik Kubalik. Wedin collected two shots, four hits, four penalty minutes and was a plus-one in his first stint in the NHL.

Sikura returns to the Blackhawks after posting eight assists and 52 shots in 33 games last season. Since being demoted to the AHL during Chicago’s training camp, he has been the IceHogs top scorer posting nine goals and 16 points in 22 games. Sikura also leads the team with 99 shots. However, Sikura has yet to score a NHL, but coach Jeremy Colliton liked what he saw from the winger when he was placed on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad last season:

  • Duncan Keith is still nursing his groin injury and is considered week-to-week. He won’t travel on the upcoming three game road trip.
  • Andrew Shaw is still in concussion protocol and is considered week-to-week.
  • Drake Caggiula skated this morning, but is still considered day-to-day as he recovers from a concussion. /
