The Blackhawks!
Won!
A!
Preseason!
Game!
With most of the veteran players back home in Chicago, the Blackhawks prospects went up to Milwaukee and gave a prospect-heavy Blues team a solid beatdown in a 6-1 win on Saturday night to cap the preseason.
Ryan Donato opened the scoring with this shot from the point that hit off a Blues defender and ricocheted into the net:
Later in the first, Connor Bedard and Philipp Kurashev tapped into some of the chemistry they had last season during a 5-on-3 power play to make it a 2-0 Chicago lead:
Zach Sanford added a third Chicago goal just before the first ended after a neat pass from Samuel Savoie:
The onslaught continued in the second, with Nolan Allan joining in on the festivities:
St. Louis scored to briefly halt the Chicago flurry of goals. Said flurry then resumed thanks to Frank Nazar on a breakaway:
Colton Dach added the final Blackhawks tally of the night with another PPG:
The third period descended into chaos, with enough shenanigans unfolding that even Bedard was involved with some extracurriculars while Kevin Korchinski dropped the mitts. Neither of those things need to happen again anytime soon, please and thank you.
No game charts or heat maps available from this game and, frankly, it’s just nice to have this preseason be over and to have it end on this more positive note. We’ll run through some pregame quotes and comments below and then wrap this up so we can look towards Tuesday’s season opener.
