After a brief glimpse in the summer, Wednesday morning saw the full unveiling of what the Blackhawks and Blues will be wearing on the ice when the two teams meet on New Years Eve at Wrigley Field for this year’s Winter Classic.
It’s a red-heavy look for the Blackhawks as the photos of Connor Bedard below show:

The brown gloves are a neat touch and the addition of a script “Chicago” on the hockey pants also plays well from this vantage point. The sweater itself isn’t the most incredible design, as it sort of feels like they took the red and white stripes at the base of the home sweater and moved it up to the chest. But the crest in the middle of the sweater is a well-done addition here.

Maybe it’s just me, but the Blues sweater is so simple that it looks like the generic uniform you’d see out of a video game that doesn’t have the official NHL licensing available and has to find ways to look as close as possible to a Blues uniform without using the word “Blues.”
