Blackhawks playoff picture: April 1

The Chicago Blackhawks have less than two weeks left in the regular-season and are fighting for a playoff berth. Each day until the end of the regular-season, we’ll breakdown their chances at a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tuesday’s results

The Nashville Predators rallied to send a game to overtime, but fell 5-4 to the Vancouver Canucks in a shootout at home. It was a sloppy game by Nashville, including Pekka Rinne giving up two goals in the second and third period four minutes apart. The New York Rangers also defeated the Winnipeg Jets, 3-2.

Wednesday’s scoreboard watch

Every team in the Central Division is off except the Colorado Avalanche, who visit the San Jose Sharks.

Blackhawks’ outlook

Coming off back-to-back wins the Blackhawks are confident and playing sharp. It’s the Predators’ division to lose, but it remains a three-team race with Chicago, Nashville and St. Louis. The Blackhawks begin a set of back-to-back games with the Canucks and Buffalo Sabers on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
