Duncan Keith scored a power-play goal with 8.5 seconds left in the third period to complete the Chicago Blackhawks comeback from a 3-1 deficit to beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3 on Wednesday at Scottrade Center.
It was just the second goal of the season for Keith.

The Hawks trailed 3-1 midway through the second period, when they started their comeback. Rookie defenseman Blake Hillman scored his first NHL goal — a shorthanded blast — from the top of the right circle at 10 minutes, 12 seconds into the second. Alex DeBrincat tied it with a wrister at 8:30 of the third for his team-leading 28th goal of the season.
With St. Louis’ loss, the Los Angeles Kings clinched a playoff spot.
Robert Bortuzzo scored the opening tally at 4:16 in the first period, when he put the puck past J-F Berube’s right side with Alexander Steen providing a screen up front.
But the Hawks leveled the score at 8:57, when Andreas Martinsen slipped a shot through the wickets on Jake Allen. It was Martinsen’s first goal with Chicago.
Earlier, the NHL reviewed Jaden Schwartz’s wraparound attempt 58 seconds into the game that looked like it had crossed the goal line, but the review determined there was no clear evidence it did.
Brayden Schenn broke the 1-1 tie with his 27th goal of the season by knocking in a rebound of a Vince Dunn shot only 47 seconds into the second period. Vladimir Tarasenko then gave the Blues a 3-1 lead at the 5:44 mark with his 33rd goal this season, off a breakaway feed from Schenn.
Berube made 30 saves in the win.
The two teams meet again Friday in the Hawks’ home finale.
