Happy Valentine’s Day, Tommy Hawk
Such a good hawk, what a fine mascot he would be.
Written for our favorite mascot in the NHL
To the tune of “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)”
There’s a rink on a western name
And it serves thousands of fans per game
Lonely people pass the time away
And talk about their team
And there’s a mascot in this western town
And he works layin’ drum beats down
They say, Tommy, fetch another round
He serves them t-shirts and gear.
The fans say: “Tommy, you’re a fine Hawk” (you’re a fine Hawk)
”What a good mascot you would be” (such a fine Hawk)
”Yeah, your eyes could steal a poor soul, from Calgary”
Tommy wears a braided chain
Made of finest silver from the North of Spain
A locket that bears the name
Of the team that Tommy loves
He came on a winter’s day
Bringin’ gifts from far away
He made it clear that he would stay
Chicago was his home
The fans say: “Tommy, you’re a fine Hawk” (you’re a fine Hawk)
”What a good mascot you would be” (such a fine Hawk)
”And we love, your drum, your t-shirts, and your glee”
Yeah, Tommy used to watch our eyes
When we witnessed, our NHL franchise
Win three Stanley Cups, and throw our arms to the skies
He saw our favorite team win the ultimate prize
But he had always told the truth, Lord, he was an honest man
Win or lose he’d do his best to understaaaaaand
At night when the UC closes down
Tommy walks through our favorite town
And loves us fans, who are all around
He still can hear us say
He hears us say “Tommy, you’re a fine hawk” (you’re a fine hawk)
”What a good mascot you would be” (such a fine hawk)
”You’re our favorite guy and we’re with you guaranteed”
He is, yes he is,
We say, “Tommy, you’re a fine hawk” (you’re a fine hawk)
”What a good mascot you would be” (such a fine hawk)
”Thank you Tommy for being the best that you can be”
