Examining the ’24-25 seasons of the Blackhawks’ young blue-liners who’ll be on the ice even more in ’25-26

After a quiet offseason, the influx of young defenders on the Blackhawks blue line from last season will be a central theme for the upcoming season as well, as the prospects that GM Kyle Davidson has been stockpiling for several seasons no longer have older veterans standing in their way.

To set expectations of what we could be getting from this youthful group of blue-liners in the 2025-26 season, we’re going to take a look back at the progress of the young defenders who played at least 10 games (so no Sam Rinzel) with the Blackhawks but have not hit 100 total NHL games yet.

Wyatt Kaiser is the exception: he did not hit 100 games yet but played in a majority of the games, finished the season with the Blackhawks, and had an impressive enough finish that his season merited a standalone season summary.
