Game Preview: IceHogs vs Chicago Wolves

The IceHogs will renew their rivalry with the Chicago Wolves tonight at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford.

The Rockford Icehogs look to continue their recent hot streak tonight against their division foe, the Chicago Wolves. The Hogs have won four in a row after going 0-3-0-1 in their first four games. Chicago handed Rockford their first two loses of the season during the opening weekend, a 1-0 shootout win and a 5-3 victory, at the Allstate Arena. A victory over the Wolves tonight will put the Hogs in a tie with Chicago atop the AHL's Midwest Division.

Brandon Pirri, Rockford's leading goal scorer with 3, has points in four straight games. Both of Jeremy Morin's goals this season have come against Chicago. Carter Hutton, who starts in goal tonight for Rockford, has allowed two or fewer goals in five of seven starts this year. Martin St. Pierre leads the team with 5 assists.

The Wolves only have 8 regulation wins in 26 games in Rockford, since the IceHogs moved to the AHL. Future Vancouver meathead Zack Kassian leads the Wolves with 4 goals, one of which was scored on Hutton on October 14th. He has also racked up 20 penalty minutes in 8 games. Brett Sterling leads Chicago in assists with 4. Wolves' goalie Eddie Lack gave up 3 goals, on 50 shots, to Rockford in his back to back victories over the Hogs on October 13th and 14th.

The puck drops for tonight's game at 7:05 in Rockford. You can catch the Wolves television broadcast on WPWR channel 50 in the Chicagoland area. For those of you out of their reach you can catch the game on AHL Live or listen for free on the IceHogs website.
