Hawks win first preseason game over Columbus

The Blackhawks were able to pick up a win tonight over the Blue Jackets, 4-3 in their preseason debut at the United Center, which was remarkably sold out with a crowd of 18,752 people tonight. The big goal came from Troy Brouwer with 6:18 to go in the 3rd period, which gave the Hawks a lead that they would not relinquish. The Hawks’ other goals came from Pascal Pelletier, Kris Versteeg and Patrick Sharp. Corey Crawford played all 60 minutes in goal and was fairly solid, making 28 saves in the win.

The official Hawks’ site should have the video highlights up fairly soon as usual, I was able to catch some of this game on the radio but I’m anxious just to see footage of Hawks hockey again. Good to see this team start out with a win, even if the games don’t really count.
