For the first time in six months, the Blackhawks will skate in a game on United Center ice when they host the Detroit Red Wings for another preseason tilt on Tuesday evening.
Detroit easily dispatched of the Hawks during last week’s preseason opener, beat the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday and then have dropped three straight in the preseason. Detroit still isn’t quite running out its top team for this game, but the lineup seems a little more NHL-heavy than the one from last Tuesday:
Still no Patrick Kane or Alex DeBrincat, but Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin are among the players who give this side a little more firepower than the prior one. And don’t forget about old friend Ian Mitchell!
As for the Hawks, one noticeable omission from the lineup below is Alex Vlasic, who departed during the third period of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild after taking a skate blade to the leg, opening a wound that has his availability for next week’s regular season opener in question.
Day to day for Vlasic after getting cut by a skate vs. the Wild. Blackhawks hopeful he’ll play vs. Florida and it’s unlikely he’ll play in any more preseason games.

Not great, but certainly on the low end of concerns for a hockey injury.
As for the players who will be in the lineup:
Blackhawks line rushes this morning: Donato-Bedard-Burakovsky Teravainen-Nazar-Bertuzzi Moore-Dickinson-Mikheyev Foligno-Greene-Dach Grzelyck-Rinzel Kaiser-Levshunov Del Mastro-Murphy Knight & Soderblom are the goaltenders

Spencer Knight is expected to play the whole game, too.
Save for Vlasic and a night off for Landon Slaggert, this looks pretty damn close to what we can expect to see against the defending champs next Tuesday. Combine that with a little home cooking for the first time this preseason, and those on the home side should have a little extra juice in their legs for this one.
Let’s go Hawks.
