Jordin Tootoo on Blackhawks-Predators: ‘It finally feels great to be on the right side’

Before joining the Chicago Blackhawks this season, Jordin Tootoo was a member of the Nashville Predators from 2003-12. He became a fan favorite there for the edge he brought to the ice, which we got a reminder of Wednesday when he was asked about facing his former team in the playoffs.

Damn, Jordin.

He did clarify his comments to The Tennessean, not trying to offend anyone from Nashville.

“I think there was a little misinterpretation there,” Tootoo said. “I’m at a point in my life where I’m very, very happy and content and grateful for the opportunity to play for the Blackhawks.

“I respect the city of Nashville and everything that it’s given to me. It’s that time of the year where every man is for himself. I’m a Blackhawk now. Looking forward to a great challenge.”

Tootoo scored one of his two goals during the 2016-17 regular season against the Predators in Nashville amid cheers from the crowd. Here’s to guessing he might not get as much love if he scores in the playoffs.
