Kyle Beach Traded To The Rangers

Word has just come across the wire that the Blackhawks have moved Kyle Beach to the New Rangers for Brandon Mashinter. Beach was drafted 11th overall in 2008 and was supposed to be the big power forward that plays with grit and could score goals. Five years later, Beach has yet to play one second in the NHL. Beach’s time with the Hawks organization has been full of injuries, dumb penalties, under acheivement and disappointment.

So what do the Blackhawks have in Brandon Mashinter? Well, to be honest, not much of anything. The fact Stan Bowman got someone with a pulse for Beach is nothing short of a miracle. The left handed winger, 6’4 and 235 lbs, does have size which is always attractive to hockey general managers. He has played a total of 23 games with theSharks and Rangers with no points and 27 penalty minutes. You can read more on Mashinter at his Hockey’s Future profile.
