We love beer on this site.. that shouldn’t shock anyone if you’ve been here for more than a few hours.  And Chicago’s a great place for a beer lover.  On top of some amazing bars, there’s a lot going on in the brewing community in our fair city.  There are brewpubs like Revolution Brewing that opened recently, plus breweries like Metropolitan and Half Acre that are making some fantastic craft beers within the city limits.

Well our mayor, the esteemed Richard M. Daley, has included some of that delicious beer in a recent wager with the mayor, chancellor, duke or whatever it is they have in Vancouver over the upcoming series.  According to Half Acre’s blog – Daley is putting up a case of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale and Gossamer Golden Ale.

Here’s hoping those schmucks in Vancouver don’t get the honor and privilege of drinking some of our finest beer… but it’s still great to see the mayor honor the local craft beer movement.  Now if only he could find a way out of that horrible parking meter lease.

Congrats to Half Acre as well – keep up the great work.
