Morning Bag Skate: Trevor van Riemsdyk to play for Team USA at World Championship

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk will make his international debut for the United States next month at the 2017 World Championship.

In Hawks prospect news, Alex DeBrincat had an assist in Erie’s 4-3 win over Owen Sound in Game 4 of the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference Final. He has seven points (three goals, four assists) in the series, which is tied 2-2. Game 5 is Friday in Erie.

Matthew Highmore had an assist in Saint John’s 4-3 loss to Chicoutimi in Game 4 of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s semifinals. The series is tied 2-2 with Game 5 on Friday at Saint John.
