Michigan junior defenseman Sam Piazza was one of a handful of invitees to the Chicago Blackhawks prospects camp, which was held last week. Piazza, a Darien, Ill. native, said he had a “cool experience” at the camp, but when it came time to say something to coach Joel Quenneville, he was a bit lost for words.
“I left the locker room and I walked right by Joel Quenneville and I was surprised to see him close up,” Piazza told MGoBlue.com. “That was the first time I’d seen him in person, so I just said hello. That was something I’ll remember for a while, and it was pretty cool to see him.”
