My 4th Star: Blackhawks vs. Ducks

He was on the ice for all 4 Duck goals but as Greg called out in his recap, that is going to happen because he was on the ice all night. He led the TEAM in TOI with 25:21 beating Keith by a whole 30 seconds. Conversely, the Ducks only had one player skate over 22 minutes.

Even though Kane was a -4 he was still making magic happen and doing everything he could to play the role of three guys last night. It’s going to be tough on the kid if Hossa is out for more than a few games and hopefully Q will get him some help from Rockford.

Kane did get his 38th point of the season earning an assist (22) on Nick Leddy’s powerplay goal, but it wasn’t enough to lift the depleted Hawks past the Ducks.

Honorable Mention: Vik Stalberg and Nick Leddy, there were a few plays last night were Stalberg and Leddy showed why they will have a career in the NHL. They both have really amazing speed and were able to show their puck carrying skills going end to end a few times last night. Stalberg also had a nice screen on Leddy’s power play goal. He is starting to use that big Swedish body, can we just morph Stalberg and Bickell into one player this offseason and save the hassle of having to chose between the two?

Hawks don’t play until Monday against the Kings so hopefully Hossa can get healthy this weekend and Quenneville can figure out what to do with the bench car bomb.
