NHL trade rumors 2016: Blackhawks seeking winger to pair with Teuvo Teravainen, per report

Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman has been busy the past two days, trading for winger Andrew Ladd on Thursday night and sending Rob Scuderi to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Christian Ehrhoff. However, Bowman still isn’t done yet.

According to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune, the Blackhawks are looking to acquire a winger to play alongside forward Teuvo Teravainen. The 21-year-old has played with Andrew Desjardins and Phillip Danault for most of the season, but Kuc says the Blackhawks like Teravainen at center and want to add a gritty scoring winger to the fold to play on his wing.

One available player who could fill that role is P.A. Parenteau of the Toronto Maple Leafs. We’ve already discussed the fit and looked at what it might take to acquire Parenteau. If the Blackhawks can swing a deal for Parenteau, their forward depth would be set up well for them to make a run at repeating as Stanley Cup champions.

It’ll be interesting to see what Bowman does during the coming weekend. The NHL trade deadline is Monday, Feb. 29.
