The new year brought the same result for the Blackhawks in Winter Classic games as they fell 4-2 to the Bruins on New Year’s Day at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.
Chicago held the lead twice, but the Bruins rallied to improve to 2-1 in outdoor games. Boston beat the Flyers in overtime in 2010 at Fenway Park and fell to the Canadiens in 2015 at Gillette Stadium.
The Blackhawks have one win outdoors in the 2014 Stadium Series against the Penguins at Solider Field in Chicago.
