This isn’t going to be pleasant, but it must be done.
Soon after each season ends, we always peruse the various categories at the Natural Stat Trick website to see what it can tell us about the Blackhawks’ play during the prior season. One year ago, we did so with delineations between the eras of the two coaches behind the bench that season. No such circumstance existed this season, so the games are grouped into a full 82.
The Blackhawks finished 31st in the league standings this season and it doesn’t require too deep of a dive to find additional data to explain why they finished there. So, let’s work our way through all this is as fast as possible and get on to the rest of our offseason discussions.
