There’s some big doings a-transpirin’ today with the trade deadline, the Hawks being welcomed home after the Olympic break (and yesterday’s dog-food caliber performance), and our first Bottom Lounge after-party. Here’s hoping I can keep up with all of it.
So as we move into our second hour of coverage, there hasn’t been a blockbuster to speak of, just a lot of depth defensemen changing hands for picks and prospects (Aaron Ward, Derek Morris, Dennis Seidenberg, Martin Skoula). Throbbing Hockey Brain Scotty Bowman says the Hawks are happy with the goaltending situation, but that could be just misdirection of the media. So far none of the big names (Vokoun, Whitney) have changed hands. Still plenty of time left to go, though. Join us in the comments, won’t you.
