Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane moves into 5th all time in franchise points

Patrick Kane is moving up the leaderboard and making his case as one of the greatest players in Chicago Blackhawks history.

The superstar forward recorded two assists against the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday to move into sole possession of fifth place on the Blackhawks’ all-time scoring list with 781 points, breaking a tie with Doug Wilson (779).

Stan Mikita is the franchise’s all-time scoring leader at 1,467 points and Bobby Hull (1,153) and Denis Savard (1,096) are second and third, respectively. Kane is 143 points away from surpassing the next man on the list in Steve Larmer (923).

Jonathan Toews is the only other active player to crack the top 10 on the list. Toews (642) sits in seventh place.

Kane, who turned 29 last month, has 29 points (10 goals and 19 assists) in 30 games this season. He has only finished with less than 70 points in an 82-game season three times (2011-12, 2013-14, 2014-15) in his 10-year NHL career with Chicago.

This won’t be the only time Kane makes his way up the franchise record books this season.

For franchise goals, Kane is four goals shy of passing Dennis Hull (298) for fifth, while Savard (377) looks to be safe in the fourth spot for awhile. Toews (280) is also in the top 10 on this list in seventh.
