The Blackhawks take to the road for the first time this preseason as the travel to our nation’s capital. Tonight will be the first of three meetings with the Washington Capitals, in the next eleven days, culminating with the regular season opener at the United Center on October 1st.
Although the official rosters for tonight’s game have not been released, we do know that Jonathan Toews will be make his preseason debut tonight. A lower body injury has kept him out of the first two games versus the Red Wings and the Penguins. Antti Raanta will get his first action of the preseason season as the Finnish goaltending prospect gets the start in net tonight. We also know that Marian Hossa, who is still nursing an upper body injury (back) will sit out tonight’s game. Teuvo Teravainen, who has been impressive in camp, will not be with the team either, He flew back to Finland today to rejoin Jokerit of the SM-liiga.
