Chris DiDomenico signs 2-year deal with SCL Tigers in Switzerland

Chris DiDomenico signed a two-year contract for his second stint with SCL Tigers in Switzerland’s National League, the team announced Wednesday.

DiDomenico, 29, played a major role in the Rockford IceHogs’ — the Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate — Calder Cup playoff run. He scored a team-high 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 13 playoff games as Rockford advanced to the AHL Western Conference Final for the first time in franchise history.

The Hawks acquired DiDomenico from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman prospect Ville Pokka. DiDomenico tallied six goals and 10 points last season in 24 games with Ottawa prior to the trade. Pokka, who was long considered one of Chicago’s top prospects, logged 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 23 games for Ottawa’s AHL club Belleville.

It will be DiDomenico’s second stint in Switzerland with SCL Tigers. He previously parts of four seasons with the team from 2014-17.
