A few weeks after the Lightning won the Stanley Cup, the NHL hosted the 2020 draft and gone through the first wave of free agency.

For the Blackhawks, fans think things are headed in the wrong direction. A plurality of fans gave Chicago a “C” or worse on its draft class.

Things didn’t improve for the Blackhawks once free agency opened a week later. Fewer than one-fifth of Chicago fans said they are happy with the Blackhawks offseason.

The Blackhawks moved on from two former two-time Stanley Cup champions in letting goaltender Corey Crawford sign with the Devils and trading two-way forward Brandon Saad to the Avalanche for defenseman Nikita Zadorov. Chicago also swapped AHL defenseman with Colorado, sending Dennis Gilbert to the Avalanche for Anton Lindholm.

Chicago also signed two more defensive forwards in free agency to one-year contracts with Mattias Janmark and Lucas Wallmark.
