With the Blackhawks bowing out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the first round for the first time since 2012, we have a much longer offseason to fill with content and fun than normal. One of the ways we have decided to that is to do this 30 day “challenge” in which we will present a topic for you, the SCH commenters and community, to answer. Every day for 30 days we will have a new topic to discuss in the comments.

Day 26: Favorite NHL event?
Adam: The NHL’s big events tend to be a lot of fun. The Winter Classic, Stadium Series, All-Star Game and Draft are all very cool because they bring the focus of nearly every fan to that moment. For me, my favorite event is the draft. The draft has become the place where a ton of the biggest trades of the offseason happen, and it’s always fun to watch the players get drafted and see their dreams come true.
Brandon: The first night of the playoffs is the best for me. It’s wall-to-wall action. Opening night could be really special if the NHL had one game with the champions facing their biggest rival or the loser of the other conference final from the previous season i.e. how the No Fun League does it.
