Stanley Cup Final Game Thread, 6/8

Come discuss Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final with us!

Stanley Cup Final

Vegas Golden Knights at Florida Panthers – 7 p.m. CT (TNT, TBS)

Vegas leads series 2-0

The story for the Panthers coming into the Final, and maybe of the entire playoffs, was the play of both Matthew Tkachuk and Sergei Bobrovsky. They’ve both been notable during the first two games, but for all the wrong reasons.

Bobrovsky allowed 10 goals in five games against Toronto. He followed that up by allowing six goals in four games against Carolina. Through his 87 minutes of play in the Stanley Cup Final he has allowed eight goals (he was pulled Monday night after 27 minutes due to letting in four goals on 13 shots). You can make the rest/rust argument all you’d like, but Officer Bob needs to figure it out fast.

Tkachuk has one goal and 36 penalty minutes thorugh the first two games. His bread and butter is playing on that edge between physical and reckless, but he’s looked frustrated and wholly reckless so far.

Meanwhile Vegas continues to just smother Florida at every turn and attack them with their depth. When the Knights got Bobrovsky yanked from the crease Monday night that marked the fifth time they’ve chased an opposing goalie in their last 12 games.

Vegas is dangerous and they’re in the midst of one of the best offensive runs the league has seen during a Final in quite some time.
