In a historic Game 4 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, the Edmonton Oilers stunned the Florida Panthers with a 5–4 come-from-behind overtime victory, leveling the series at 2–2. Trailing 3–0 after the first period, the Oilers mounted an impressive comeback, marking the first time since 1919 that a road team overcame a three-goal deficit to win a Cup Final game.

Florida’s Matthew Tkachuk (twice) and Anton Lundell gave the Panthers a commanding lead in the first period. However, Edmonton responded in the second period with goals from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Vasily Podkolzin, tying the game at 3–3. Jake Walman then gave the Oilers a brief 4–3 lead in the third period, but with just 19.5 seconds remaining, the Panthers’ Sam Reinhart scored to send the game to overtime.

In overtime, Leon Draisaitl secured the win for Edmonton with his fourth playoff overtime goal, setting a new record for the most overtime goals in a single postseason. Backup goaltender Calvin Pickard played a pivotal role after replacing Stuart Skinner, stopping the first 18 shots he faced and anchoring the comeback.

The series now heads back to Edmonton for Game 5 on Saturday night with both teams eager to take the lead in this thrilling final.
