Stanley Cup Playoffs Discussion Thread: May 13-16

The second round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs rolls along into the third week of May, with several series potentially ending by the end of the week.

Monday’s action starts with a possible elimination game, as the New York Rangers are at home with a 3-1 series lead over the Carolina Hurricanes for Game 5 and a chance to send their opponents to the golf courses for the summer. The nightcap doesn’t have elimination available, but the Dallas Stars could take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win over the Colorado Avalanche in the Mile High city.

On Tuesday, the Florida Panthers can end the Boston Bruins’ season with a victory at home in Game 5, followed by the surprising Vancouver Canucks, who enter Game 4 that evening with a 2-1 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers while riding the storybook run of backup goaltender Arturs Silovs.

Game 5 between Dallas and Colorado follows on Wednesday, with Edmonton/Vancouver and New York/Carolina games TBD on Thursday evening — if the latter game is needed at all.
